Bringing the Spirit of Sinulog at MedImpact
MedImpact Philippines celebrated Sinulog 2026 in Cebu by bringing the colors, rhythm, and energy of one of the country’s most iconic festivals into the workplace.
Sinulog is deeply rooted in Cebu’s rich and dynamic culture. Long before Ferdinand Magellan arrived in Cebu in 1521, historical accounts suggest that locals were already performing ritual dances as part of their traditions. With the introduction of Christianity, the Santo Niño became a central symbol of devotion and celebration, eventually shaping Sinulog into the vibrant cultural and religious festival known today.
This year, the MedImpact Philippines office came alive with festive decorations, music, team presentations, and Sinulog-inspired activities that highlighted creativity, collaboration, and community spirit.
As part of the celebration, employees participated in two major team activities: Colors of Sinulog: Most Creative Space and Sinulog Spirit Showcase: Most Festive Team Vibe. Teams transformed their assigned work areas into colorful Sinulog-inspired spaces, using creative decorations, cultural elements, and festive designs while ensuring safety, cleanliness, and workplace guidelines were followed.

The operations floor was filled with vibrant displays, handcrafted props, colorful backdrops, and team setups that reflected the joy and artistry of the Sinulog Festival. Employees also showed their festive spirit through coordinated outfits, props, and energetic team presentations.

Adding to the celebration was a live Sinulog-inspired cultural performance featuring drumbeats, dance, and festival attire. The performance brought the rhythm of Cebu’s streets into the office, creating a lively and memorable experience for employees across the site.
The decorated spaces and team presentations were evaluated based on creativity, originality, theme alignment, effort, visual impact, team energy, and overall embodiment of the Sinulog spirit. Leaders including Jeff Jessen, Vasu Bobba, Alexa Nacional, and Aaron Roberts were among those who helped judge the entries and recognize the teams that best captured the celebration’s theme.
More than a workplace event, the celebration became a moment of connection for employees. It gave teams an opportunity to collaborate beyond their day-to-day work, showcase their creativity, and celebrate a tradition that holds special meaning in Cebu.
Beyond the festivities, MedImpact International continues to honor local traditions while embracing a diverse, global perspective. Celebrations like Sinulog reflect the organization’s commitment to building a workplace culture where people feel connected, represented, and proud of the communities they are part of.
Through one beat, one dance, and one shared vision, MedImpact Philippines celebrated not only the spirit of Sinulog but also the creativity, unity, and energy of its people.
